Home › Glossary › What is a clip?
A clip is a short segment cut from a live stream or its recording, usually a few seconds to a minute.
Short video travels far beyond your existing audience, which makes clips the most common first contact someone has with a channel.
Context that your regulars carry in their heads is missing for a stranger. The strongest clips explain themselves in their first seconds.
Once an archive is searchable, clipping stops depending on something good happening tonight and becomes a matter of finding what already exists.
