Home › Glossary › What is a lurker?
A lurker watches without typing. On most channels they are the overwhelming majority of viewers.
They contribute watch time, they subscribe, and they are the pool new chatters come from. Treating silence as absence misreads the room.
Pressuring quiet viewers to speak tends to lose them. Acknowledging lurkers as welcome costs nothing and is why many of them stay.
