Home › Glossary › What is an overlay?
An overlay is the set of graphics sitting on top of your video: frames, alerts, labels, and goal bars.
Each addition takes space from whatever people came to watch. The strongest overlays are noticeably emptier than the ones new channels build.
Plenty of overlays are illegible on a phone, which is where much of the audience watches. Shrink it down before committing.
