Observed managers and seniors losing light in their eyes; rejected corporate path to avoid soulless existence.

Yeah, like the life disappeared in everybody's eyes, like my managers, my supers, you know, like everyone who was ahead of me by a couple of years, I could see this light just disappear from their eyes. And I know that sounds really overdramatic. I'm sure there's people listening to this that are like, no, that's not true. That's only true, you fucking hate your job. And that's probably true. But I'll tell you that most of these guys did not dream about having a corporate job when they were eight years old, you know? So I realized, wow, I can't do this. I don't want to be like that. Like I really don't want to be this guy who has no, you know, no life in his life, no ability to work out, gaining weight, just the soul is gone.
