What happens in this moment

A lot of trading is waiting and it's very easy to feel like when you're doing nothing, you're not doing your job. Your job is not to find a trade every single day. Your job is not to constantly be in a position, pressing buttons, staring at a screen. Your job is to execute your trading plan, apply your edge to the market when it's there. If it's not there, you're waiting. You're doing nothing. But that waiting, that doing nothing is part of the job. Think of this as like an analogy. If you're a fisherman, your job is not to be out on the water every single day, casting your line off your boat because there's going to be periods of time where the fish aren't running perhaps, right?
