Mental rules fail under emotion, revenge trading escalates losses from 1R to 2-3R quickly.

Maybe you're tilted because you just took a loss, well, I got to just make it all back. When you're in these emotional states, it's very easy to just forget that you have this checklist and framework of rules that you're supposed to follow and you get a little more flexible, a little more slack into them and the next thing you know, what was supposed to be a one-hour loss, two percent that you were prepared to take becomes two R or three R because you're revenge trading, you're tilted, you're taking trades that aren't there, you're over trading. So the only way to really help you enforce what is, at the end of the day, a mental rule set, right, is to create structure around it. These rules are not like a stop loss that you put into the terminal and you know, if you're at the gym, that order triggers whether you like it or not.
